10:12 am – Meeting opened with prayer – Marie Williams
Dale Kimball, opens with update of LTRO
25 houses in reconstruction in St. Tammany parish 6 new builds
15 pending construction cases
Most clientele we have left are high-end worse case scenario or have been hiding from us for 3 years
Still lending a lot of assistance to Washington Parish
Breaking ground on house in Franklinton – 12 kids, 4 bedroom home
50 projects seeking funding
Continue to aggressively seek funding.
NDRI’s goal is to get as much done as we can by the end of the year.
Probably by end of summer, NDRI will start downscaling transition.
We are not going away – we just need to adjust.
If you would like to be a player in that transition, please let us know.
Approaching the 1000th rebuild.
Volunteer – we still continue to get massive numbers of volunteers, especially during the month of March.
LFRC grant in the works – came through us, 60 houses worked on by contractors.
Community centers – closed the 190 center but kept open the I-59 center where VOAD/LA Spirit operates.
NDRI, Dale – If anyone has a client that they don’t know what to do with, please bring it to the table. It’s a new year with new options – keep them on the forefront so we can all work together to serve our clients.
CCC, Ken – United Way NOLA meeting: “What are organizations doing to be prepared for another disaster?”
NDRI, Dale – We have a good relationship with the parish government. We have two positions in the emergency operations center – one for the west side and one for the east side of the parish. These two are NDRI direct contacts during a storm. We are currently putting the other steps in place as far as who is providing what. If we want to meet and be a part of solidifying this plan, please contact us.
NDRI, Dale – Project NOAH will be commencing again this year late June-early August. If you would like to know more about the project – call Wybra or Ashlie. Youngest age requirement is 14
NDRI, Dale – If anyone has housing available for the Spring Break/Summer times please let Ashlie know ASAP.
CCC, Ken –The Marimon Center?
NDRI, Dale – we are ready to go to work on it but it has run into problems because the city councilman for that district has stirred up protests. It will take some time to sort through the PR war before things move forward.
NDRI, Debbie – Come February, many clients who have been renting at lower rates will be susceptible to the higher rates. Many of them are in panic mode.
Meeting adjourned 10:43. |
